'My address: Srebrenica' - Prosecution to launch wiretapping investigation

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, January 26 (FENA) - The Initiative "My Address: Srebrenica" announced that they were shocked by the statement of the President of the SNSD Srebrenica Radomir Pavlović on the RTRS show that the RS Ministry of Interior intercepted conversations and recorded meetings of the Initiative and members of the Central Election Commission of BiH.

“This confirmed our views on discrimination against Bosniaks during the issuance of ID cards in Srebrenica, and continued pressure and persecution of Bosniaks from Srebrenica,” said Sadik Ahmetović, President of the election headquarters of the Initiative "My Address: Srebrenica".

He added that the police have a legal obligation to monitor the election process with democratic supervision so that the elections are fair and democratic, and that the RS police put themselves on one side, on the side of the Serb people and intercepted conversations and listened to the conversations of the Initiative members and CEC of BiH, and by such actions violated the democratic integrity of the elections in Srebrenica.

Ahmetović said the RS's mono-ethnic police had only confirmed that nothing had changed since July 1995, when they committed the crime of genocide against Bosniaks in Srebrenica.

“We call on the Prosecutor's Office of BiH to immediately launch an investigation into who and on whose orders listened to and recorded members of the Initiative 'My Address: Srebrenica', otherwise we will consider whether RS Ministry of Interior can monitor the election process in Srebrenica and accordingly make our decisions for repeating the elections,” Ahmetović pointed out, announced the Initiative "My Address: Srebrenica".
