Indictment confirmed in Jovan Šatara et al. case for war crimes in Donji Vakuf

SARAJEVO, February 2 (FENA) - The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed the Indictment in the case of Jovan Šatara et al. charging the accused Jovan Šatara, Boško Savković, Sekula Šišić, Nenad Tanasić, Boško Bilić, Zdravko Balaban and Jordan Ilić with the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity under Article 172(1)h) as read with Subparagraphs a), e), f), g), i) and k), all in conjunction with Article 180, Paragraphs 1 and 2, and Article 29 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CC BiH).

According to the Indictment, in the framework of a widespread and systematic attack against the non-Serb civilian population in the territory of Donji Vakuf municipality, knowing of the attack and that their actions constituted a part thereof, acting with discriminatory intent, the accused committed persecution of non-Serb civilians in the territory of Donji Vakuf Municipality on ethnic and religious grounds, namely as follows:

The accused Jovan Šatara, by way of detention or other severe deprivation of physical liberty in contravention of the fundamental rules of international law, other inhumane acts of similar nature committed with the intention of inflicting severe pain or serious bodily or mental injury, by torture and murder;

The accused Boško Savković, by way of detention or other severe deprivation of physical liberty in contravention of the fundamental rules of international law, other inhumane acts of similar nature committed with the intention of inflicting severe pain or serious bodily or mental injury, by torture, murder and forced disappearance;

The accused Sekula Šišić, by way of detention or other severe deprivation of physical liberty in contravention of the fundamental rules of international law, other inhumane acts of similar nature committed with the intention of inflicting severe pain or serious bodily or mental injury, by torture, murder and forced disappearance;

The accused Nenad Tanasić by way of other inhumane acts of similar nature committed with the intention of inflicting severe pain or serious bodily or mental injury, by torture and forced disappearance;

The accused Boško Bilić by torture;

 The accused Zdravko Balaban by way of detention or other severe deprivation of physical liberty in contravention of the fundamental rules of international law and by torture;

The accused Jordan Ilić by way of other inhumane acts of similar nature committed with the intention of inflicting severe pain or serious bodily or mental injury, by torture, murder and rape, stated the BiH Court.
