BIHAĆ, February 4 (FENA) - This year, the City of Bihać will implement a project within the grant scheme "Improving the availability and quality of public services in the municipalities and cities of the Federation of BiH", funded by the Government of the Federation of BiH and the Government of Switzerland.

This year the city has chosen to solve the problem of stray dogs and improve the work of the City Veterinary Station.

The funds were provided through the Integrated Local Development Project, implemented by the United Nations Development Program in Bosnia and Herzegovina (UNDP).

“It will be implemented in partnership with the Public Enterprise 'Veterinary Station' d.o.o. Bihać and the total value of the project is 72,400 KM, of which the grant funds of the donor are 50,500 marks, while the rest of the money is co-financed by the City of Bihać. The planned duration of the project is five months, and the City of Bihać will improve the work of the Public Enterprise "Veterinary Station", which operates for the 'Temporary Shelter for Animals in the City of Bihać', by procuring the necessary X-ray machine with a digitizer,” confirmed the City Administration.

The funds of the project will also be used to microchip dogs, and generally, to work on improving awareness of keeping and caring for these pets.

Education will also be organized for children and students in city kindergartens, as well as in primary and secondary schools.
