MOSTAR, February 11 (FENA) - Despite the unpredictable and uncertain development of the coronavirus pandemic, which has had the most direct impact on air traffic worldwide, BHANSA expects that its plan for this year will be fully implemented and that the situation in air traffic, for which it is responsible, will stabilize, said Director of the BiH Air Navigation Services Agency (BHANSA) Davorin Primorac.
He met with BiH Minister of Transport and Communications Vojin Mitrović at the Agency's headquarters in Mostar and in addition to the implementation of the plan for 2021, the impact of the pandemic on the revenues and overall operations of BHANSA, they also discussed measures to overcome the current situation and the problems of staff structure and technical equipment.
Like the entire aviation industry and all other air traffic control agencies, BHANSA faced unprecedented problems at the beginning of the pandemic and an almost complete suspension of air traffic.
“Thanks to the crisis measures we have taken, we have managed to minimize the damage and respond to the new situation better than many other agencies, which is also recognized by our European partners who have given us recognition for that. We informed the Minister about the continuation of our activities for the normalization of air traffic in the coming period,” said Primorac.
Even in the current crisis, BHANSA has managed to retain qualified, professional and capable personnel who are able to respond to the most demanding airspace control tasks.
“Until only a few years ago, BiH had almost no capacity in that area, and now we have complete control of the entire BiH airspace. We are now focused on stabilizing business and safely reviving air traffic. Of course, we have not given up on our long-term development strategy for the period until 2027, i.e. the continued investment in the education of experts in BHANSA, modernization of equipment and upgrading of infrastructure,” said Primorac.
He especially emphasized the fact that for these development projects, as well as all other aspects of business, financing will be provided exclusively from BHANSA's own funds, without budget support from the state. Minister Mitrović welcomed the activities of the BHANSA management and announced the full support of the relevant ministry to the realization of the Agency's plans.
