BiH parliamentarians urge for the signing of readmission agreements

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, February 17 (FENA) - The Joint Committee for Defense and Security of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina supported the initiative of the HDZ MP in the House of Representatives Predrag Kožul to initiate procedures for signing readmission agreements with countries with the largest number of migrants in BiH.

The initiative instructs the Ministry of Security and the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs to urgently initiate procedures and take all necessary actions to sign readmission agreements with Afghanistan, Iraq, Bangladesh, Iran, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco.

Also, the Council of Ministers of BiH is in charge of reporting on the undertaken activities and their effects to the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH no later than 90 days from the adoption of the initiative.

The Joint Committee did not support the Report on the work of the Independent Committee of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly as an independent body over the BiH police structure for 2020, but adopted the Work Plan of that committee for 2021, said the BiH Parliamentary Assembly.
