BiH PA HoR adopts amendments to Laws on Public Procurement and Medicines

SARAJEVO, February 25 (FENA) - Deputies of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina yesterday adopted amendments to the Law on Public Procurement and the Law on Medicines and Medical Devices by urgent procedure, at the request of MPs from the Party of Democratic Action (SDA).

The proposed changes should create a legal framework that allows direct procurement of coronavirus vaccines from manufacturers.

Also, the parliamentary initiative of Predrag Kožul (HDZ) was adopted, by which the House of Representatives instructs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH to send an appeal to the Yad Vashem Memorial Center in Jerusalem to put the official and full name of the state - Bosnia and Herzegovina, instead of the abbreviated name Bosnia on the official website of this center among Righteous Among the Nations.

Kožul's initiative was adopted, by which the House of Representatives instructs the BiH Council of Ministers, and the BiH Ministry of Security and the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs to urgently initiate procedures and take all necessary actions to sign a readmission agreement with Afghanistan, Iraq, Bangladesh, Iran, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco.

The conclusion of MP Nenad Stevandić (Serb Caucus) was adopted, by which the House of Representatives tasks the director of the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of BiH to apply Article 38 of the Law on Medicines and Medical Devices of Bosnia and Herzegovina when considering the application for registration of the virus vaccine.

The deputies also gave consent for ratification of the Agreement between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of the Republic of Serbia on maintenance and reconstruction of road interstate bridges between BiH and the Republic of Serbia, as well as for ratification of the Memorandum of Understanding between the European Union as a lender and BiH as a borrower in the amount of EUR 250 million.

The deputies agreed to ratify the Readmission Agreement between the BiH Council of Ministers and the Government of Pakistan and the Protocol between the BiH Ministry of Security and the Ministry of Interior of Pakistan on the implementation of the Readmission Agreement between the BiH Council of Ministers and the Government of Pakistan, and to ratify the Loan Agreement (GrCF2 W2 - Sarajevo Public Transport Project - Part 3) between BiH and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
