'Genocide Papers' reveal schocking details about discussion at RS NA

FENA Press release

SREBRENICA, March 1 (FENA) - The Srebrenica Memorial Center today presented the findings of the "Genocide Papers" research project, which is a collection of searchable transcripts of the so-called Assembly of the Serb People in Bosnia and Herzegovina that was ative between the years 1991 and 1996.

It is an online platform that aims to provide researchers, scientists, civil society organizations in the region, the media and all those interested in genocide research with a simple insight into the most important decisions of the then leadership of the Republika Srpska in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

These documents have been public before, but were inaccessible and their formats did not make it easy to search for content, and the Memorial Center recognized them as important in raising public awareness of the wider political consensus on the genocide operation against Bosniaks throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The realization of that research project was initiated and approved by the Steering Board of the Memorial Center, and the "Genocide Transcripts" Project was financed directly from the budget of the Srebrenica Memorial Center, without the support of external donors.

The project leadership will submit this app to universities and civil society organizations in the region, but also to the media, it was announced.

The platform will be launched online in the coming period, and the goal is to further expand it in the future, through the inclusion of new transcripts, decisions and documents of various institutions relevant and related to planning and organizing genocidal operations and other war crimes during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1992 to 1995.

Among a large number of documents, one of them recorded the statement of convicted war criminal Momčilo Krajišnik on January 8, 1993, in which he said that Muslims as a people were a communist creation.

“We do not accept that artificial nation. We consider Muslims to be a sect or group of Turkish provenance. Is there anything else to be added? No. I put all these conclusions to the vote. Who is in favor? Who is against? Restrained? Gentlemen, thank you, we adopted the conclusions unanimously,” he said.

“They are Mohammedans of Turkish provenance and nothing else. They are not even true members of Islam, because they are more of a sect than true members of Islam. And a Muslim came to him as a member of Islam. They are a kind of lower category. However, the President of the Assembly is right, they are a sect. And let's not make them Serbian, please,” said Savo Knežević.

This is not a subjective interpretation of the victim of such a system. Reading these records will convince readers without knowing about the situation here, given that the destructive intent was openly elaborated and proclaimed by acts, statements and actions of the actors of the Assembly of the Serb People in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the then political and military leadership of Bosnian Serbs.

The Assembly of the Serb People in Bosnia and Herzegovina "as the highest representative and legislative body of the Serb people in BiH" was constituted on October 24, 1991 in Sarajevo. It was formed by members of the Caucus of the Serbian Democratic Party and the Caucus of the Serbian Renewal Movement in the Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the basis of "the constitutionally determined right to self-determination, including the right to secede."
