FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, March 5 (FENA) - Exactly one year ago the first person infected with coronavirus was registered in Bosnia and Herzegovina, followed by the introduction of measures aimed at preventing the rapid spread of the virus.

The first year of the pandemic and the accompanying restrictive measures had consequences for the economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina. However, comparative data from the FBiH Tax Administration show that the extent of the negative economic consequences does not correspond to the pessimistic estimates from 2020.

In the first two months of 2021, 847,624,898 KM of direct taxes were collected in FBiH, which is 20,410,924 KM or 2.35 percent less than in the same period in 2020.

In 2021, the FBiH Tax Administration is recording a trend of increasing number of employees. Compared to January 31, 2021, when 516,808 employees were registered in the FBiH, on February 28, 2021, there were 1,171 more employees, i.e. a total of 517,979 employees.

The number of employees in the FBiH on February 28, 2021, compared to the number of employees on February 28, 2020, is lower by 14,574, which is a decrease of 2.73 percent.
