Turković and Fauci discuss the fight against COVID-19 pandemic

SARAJEVO, March 8 (FENA) - Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bisera Turković spoke today with the Chief Medical Adviser to the President of the United States, Dr. Anthony Fauci on the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fauci is also the Director of the National Institute for Allergic and Infectious Diseases and a leading American expert on infectious diseases.

Minister Turković informed Fauci about the current situation and measures taken in BiH in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus, and the problems that have arisen in the procurement of vaccines through the COVAX mechanism.

She pointed out that our country would deeply appreciate the help of the United States in solving this problem, and that it would be important for all countries in the world to carry out vaccination of the population at the same time.

Fauci spoke about the current situation in the United States, and the measures and actions taken by the new US administration led by President Joe Biden, stated the BiH Foreign Ministry.
