SARAJEVO, March 9 (FENA) - The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted a series of conclusions at an extraordinary telephone session in order to start activities on preparation, harmonization and adoption of BiH's position on the Stabilization and Association Process for the 4th meeting of the Stabilization and Association Council of EU - BiH and determining the composition of the BiH delegation for this meeting, the BiH Council of Ministers said today.
The approximate date for the meeting has been proposed for April 13, 2021, and formal confirmation is expected in the following period.
The meeting will be chaired by the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission Joseph Borel. The BiH delegation will be led by the Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers, Zoran Tegeltija.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH is in charge of requesting information from the Permanent Delegation of BiH, within the Stabilization and Association Council, on the composition of the delegation that will accompany them at this meeting.
The Council of Ministers of BiH has instructed the Directorate for European Integration (DEI) to prepare a document as an appendix to the draft position of BiH on the Stabilization and Association Process for the fourth meeting of the Stabilization and Association Council, in its role as the Secretariat of the EU Stabilization and Association Committee.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH is in charge of preparing a document for drafting a position within its competences, especially related to issues of political dialogue and relations between BiH and the EU, as well as regional cooperation and issues in the field of common foreign and security policy.
Other institutions, in accordance with their competencies, are obliged to submit their contributing documents to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH for other topics on the agenda that will be proposed by the EU.
The Directorate for European Integration and other competent institutions will submit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH their contributing documents for the drafting of the position as soon as possible, and no later than seven days after receiving the information on the conclusion of the Council of Ministers of BiH.
The Stabilization and Association Agreement between the European Communities and their Member States, on one side, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the other, lead to the establishment of a Stabilization and Association Council to monitor the application and implementation of this Agreement and to consider important bilateral and international issues of mutual interest.
The Stabilization and Association Council consists of members of the Council of the European Union and the European Commission, on the one hand, and members of the BiH Council of Ministers, on the other.
