SARAJEVO, March 10 (FENA) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović said that today's conclusions of the National Assembly of the entity of Republika Srpska are extremely dangerous in which, among other things, this institution advocates for "peaceful disintegration", which he assessed only to e a euphemism for new attempts to redraw borders and endanger peace.
Džaferović is of the opinion that today's session of the RSNA proves that there still very much exist the same policies that, even after genocide and other mass crimes, still want to bring Bosnia and Herzegovina and peace in it into question.
"Their threats of 'disintegration' and 'separation' are reminiscent of the messages of war criminal Radovan Karadžić that he once sent from the pulpit of the Assembly of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that is how they should be understood.
My message to them is not to play with fire. Bosnia and Herzegovina existed long before the Dayton Peace Agreement and will exist even if it does not. And those that today threatened to unilaterally destroy the Dayton PA should know that in that case, only what was created through the Dayton PA will disappear, and that is the entities," stressed Džaferović.
He assessed that today's conclusions of the RSNA on the OHR are legally null and void because the entity assembly does not have the mandate to decide on the position of the OHR. He believes that such messages must only be a reason to continue the mission and intensify the OHR's engagement through the reactivation of the Bonn powers.
"I call on the Peace Implementation Council and the states that are witnesses of the Dayton Peace Agreement to take the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina very seriously after today's announcements from Banja Luka, because this is a blow to the very foundations of Bosnia and Herzegovina which can seriously endanger peace and stability," concluded Šefik Džaferović in his statement.
