SARAJEVO, March 11 (FENA) - The BiH Presidency member Šefik Džaferović said that the Presidency, at today's session, asked the BiH Council of Ministers to submit a new draft budget of the BiH institutions within seven days.
He explained that the position of the Presidency is that the basis for calculating the salaries of employees in the BiH institutions should not be returned to the level from 2012, which was slightly higher than the current one.
"It is necessary to establish an item in the budget with funds for the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, which is missing in this draft," stated Džaferović.
He added that there is a large disparity in the salaries of officials in the BiH institutions - soldiers and police officers, in relation to the salaries of related occupations at the entity and cantonal levels.
"The Council of Ministers must raise those salaries to a higher level, and the highest salaries received by the officials at the state level should be reduced because they are higher than the salaries of officials at lower levels of government," said Džaferović.
He pointed out that the Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Zoran Tegeltija, informed them that negotiations with the trade unions are underway and that they are drafting such a solution.
