MOSTAR, March 12 (FENA) - The Association for Economic Development REDAH presented the results of the project "Education for Sustainable Development of UNESCO Heritage" implemented within the Joint Regional Program "Dialogue for the Future", which included students from two educational institutions in the Municipality of Kotor and the City of Mostar.
The project, worth a total of about 33,000 euros, began on August 15 last year and ends on March 15 this year.
Ivica Sivrić, Acting Director of the Association for Economic Development REDAH said that the project wanted to contribute to the realization of national goals in education for sustainable development by connecting young people through informal educational programs on sustainable development, environmental protection, natural and cultural resources and climate change.
"The main goal of the project was to dedicate ourselves to the younger generation, to teach them certain communication skills, but with a focus on cultural and natural heritage, because the old town areas in the City of Mostar and the Municipality of Kotor are under UNESCO protection," explained Sivrić.
In addition to theoretical classes, certain tools were provided and mechanisms were practically presented on how to solve the problems that exist in the City of Mostar in a responsible and quality manner.
The project is implemented within the Joint Regional Program "Dialogue for the Future: Improving Dialogue and Social Cohesion", in and between BiH, Montenegro and the Republic of Serbia, implemented by UNDP, UNICEF and UNESCO, and funded by the UN Peacebuilding Fund (UN PBF).
