IGC: BiH should initiate disciplinary proceedings against ambassador in Canada

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, March 15 (FENA) - The Genocide Research Institute Canada (IGC) and BiH organizations and communities in Canada have sent a letter to the BiH Presidency Chairman and the Presidency members Milorad Dodik, Željko Komšić, Šefik Džaferović and BiH Foreign Minister Bisera Turković about "anti-Bosnian" and the unconstitutional behavior of BiH Ambassador to Canada Marko Milisav.

"The Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Canada, Marko Milisav, does not represent the views and foreign policy of the state of BiH, but the views of those who nominated him for this honorable diplomatic duty.

In an earlier letter, we pointed out the anti-state and anti-Bosnian behavior of the ambassador, who did not act in accordance with the guidelines of the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Namely, on July 11, on the 25th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica, the flag at the embassy was not lowered to half-mast. We are now informing you that the anti-Bosnian and anti-constitutional behavior of the ambassadors continues," it is stated in a letter from the IGC, whose co-signatories are also BiH organizations and communities in Canada.

As they pointed out, the BiH ambassador to Canada has participated in a TV show of the entity of RS in which he slandered individuals from the Bosnian diaspora in Canada in an undiplomatic and inhuman way.

"Upon learning from the media that Canada proposed Jospeh Ingram as the next High Representative of the International Community for BiH, the Ambassador of BiH to Canada, Marko Milisav, organized a meeting with representatives of the Government of Canada.

On his own, Ambassador Milisav conveyed to the Canadian side that there is no consensus in BiH on the further stay of the Office of the High Representative in BiH and that the prevailing position of two of the constituent peoples is that it is time to close that office.

Ambassador Milisav lied to the Canadian side because not a single relevant BiH institution (Council of Ministers, BiH Parliament) has commented on the status of the Office of the High Representative. This was done only by the parliament of one entity (RS), but it is not the official position of BiH, nor the two constituent peoples," as Ambassador Milisav tried to deceive his counterparts in Canada.

"No institution in BiH has ever taken the position that the High Representative should leave BiH. The ambassador operates outside the constitution and established diplomatic practice. This causes enormous damage to the diplomatic relations between BiH and Canada.

Instead of deepening and expanding bilateral relations, the ambassador, by presenting lies, inflicts great damage on the reputation of BiH in Canada, a friendly country that has helped BiH a lot on its Euro-Atlantic integration path and overall prosperity, it is said in the letter from IGC and BiH organizations and communities in Canada.

The Genocide Research Institute Canada and BiH organizations and communities in Canada call on the BiH Presidency and the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs to urgently initiate disciplinary proceedings against Ambassador Marko Milisav.
