FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, March 19 (FENA) - The Days of Francophonie 2021 will offer a diverse online cultural program with the joined efforts of seven countries.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions of Belgium, Egypt, France, Greece, Romania, Serbia and Switzerland, as well as the French Institute in Bosnia and Herzegovina present an online program of cultural events dedicated to the French language and culture.

Concerts, films, opera, exhibitions, promotion of a book translated into French, and competition for students: a hybrid and diverse culture will be offered to the public in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Representatives of 88 countries and governments, members or observers of the International Organization of La Francophonie in March each year celebrate in different ways the French language, which is present among 300 million people on five continents, mostly under the age of 30. French is one of the two working languages of the United Nations, the fifth language spoken in the world and the fourth language on the Internet.

The mission of Francophonie is to promote the French language, cultural and linguistic diversity, peace, democracy and human rights, the dialogue of cultures and civilizations, gathering peoples through their mutual knowledge and cooperation in the service of sustainable development.

It pays special attention to youth and equality between women and men, as well as access to information and communication technologies, the French Institute and the French Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina said.
