SARAJEVO, March 22 (FENA) - The Institute of Public Health of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina last Thursday signed a contract with the company "Medimpex" Sarajevo on the procurement of vaccines against Covid-19 in the Federation of BiH, and given that the Institute, in accordance with the contract, is waiting for the delivery of the necessary documentation, at this moment it was unable to provide more information, confirmed in a statement to FENA spokesperson of the FBiH Public Health Institute Maja Kojović, noting that the Agreement was signed after the Government of the Federation of BiH, at a session held last Tuesday, ordered the Institute to sign a contract with the selected company without delay.
Medimpex Sarajevo has contracted to deliver 500,000 doses of Gam-Covid-Vac vaccines (SPUTNIK V) for the needs of immunization of the population in the Federation of BiH in 2021, and that the first delivery of 100,000 doses of vaccines will be delivered within three working days after confirmation on the acceptance of the letter of credit from the manufacturer, and the remaining 400,000 doses of vaccines to be delivered successively.
Also, by the same conclusion of the Government of the Federation of BiH from March 16, the ad hoc team is obliged to continue negotiations with vaccine manufacturers and/or authorized wholesalers as well as all other bidders who require additional deadlines for submission of bids or possibly new bidders to continue negotiations for the procurement of additional quanities of vaccines.
Based on that conclusion, as we have learned, a new meeting of the ad hoc team should be held tomorrow, March 23, to discuss possible bids that have arrived in the meantime, but the Institute could not confirm whether more suppliers submitted bids for procurement of vaccines.
At the suggestion of FBIH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić, the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina decided to directly purchase vaccines through Medimpex so as not to waste precious time waiting for offers from other suppliers.
