Zvizdić: The state of BiH has completely failed in terms of vaccines procurement

SARAJEVO, March 25 (FENA) - It is evident that the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina has completely failed in terms of procurement of vaccines, said Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH Denis Zvizdić for BHT1.

He emphasized that the attention and focus of the public was wrongly diverted from the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the level of the Federation of BiH.

“The level of the Federation of BiH and Mr. Novalić were forced to enter the vaccine procurement processes due to inaction at the level of BiH. I hope that this procurement will be successfully completed and in that sense it will be a very good move by the Federation of BiH. Due to the inaction of the state, the Federation itself was a little late, but the state had to, should and could react much, much earlier,” Zvizdić pointed out.

He noted that three months ago he spoke about "the fact that the COVAX mechanism will not be enough for accelerated procurement and the needs of the BiH population, and that there is no reason not to enter into bilateral agreements for the procurement of vaccines, in terms of purchase or loan."

“There was not a single reason not to make an international agreement with vaccine manufacturers, which would be a clear legislative framework so that after that, both entities and, of course, domestic wholesalers can enter the procurement of vaccines from manufacturers,” said Zvizdić.
