Japan is donating eight million KM for management of migrant crisis in BiH

SARAJEVO, March 25 (FENA) - At the suggestion of the Ministry of Security, a draft agreement was adopted through the exchange of notes between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of Japan on the country's 500 million Japanese yen grant.

This donation in the value of about eight million KM is intended for the fight against illegal migration and more efficient management of the migrant crisis in BiH.

The funds will be spent on the purchase of modern security cameras for border surveillance, vehicles with built-in security cameras for patrols, and vans for the safe transport of illegal migrants and law enforcement personnel.

The recipients of the Japanese donation are the Ministry of Security of BiH, the Border Police of BiH, the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs, the Ministry of Interior of the Republika Srpska, the FBiH Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Interior of the Una-Sana Canton.

The draft agreement will be submitted to the Presidency of BiH, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs has been proposed as the signatory for BiH, the Council of Ministers of BiH announced.
