Bogić Bogićević unanimously elected as the Mayor of Sarajevo

SARAJEVO, March 26 (FENA) - Bogić Bogićević has been unanimously elected as the new Mayor of Sarajevo at a session of the City Council of the City of Sarajevo. He is elected as the SDP BiH candidate.

Bogićević made an immeasurable contribution to the preservation of BiH, was a member of the presidency of the SFRY from BiH from 1998 to 1991, a participant in the historic session of the presidency of the SFRY when he prevented the Yugoslav People's Army from staging a military coup. During the siege, he lived and worked in Sarajevo.

He was a member of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, vice president of the SDP BiH and president of the Olympic Committee of BiH, received the April 6th Award in the field of work and creativity and numerous other awards.

The councilors of the City Council of the City of Sarajevo elected Dragan Stevanović from the ranks of the Serb people (Centar Municipality) and Mirela Džehverović from the ranks of Others (Novi Grad Municipality) as deputy chairs of the City Council.

In the continuation of the session, the election of members of the Commission for Election and Appointment of the City Council of the City of Sarajevo was determined.
