SARAJEVO, March 28 (FENA) - Deputy Chair of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bisera Turković talked on the phone with the senior director for Europe in the US National Security Council Amanda Sloat about the current situation in BiH and efforts made in the past period, which relate to the beginning of the work of the Commission for Cooperation with NATO and the adoption of the document "Implementation of the Reform Program of BiH 2019-2020."
Sloat pointed out that the United States is committed to strengthening and expanding NATO, and this is confirmed by this week's visit of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to NATO headquarters in Brussels.
The interlocutors also exchanged views on the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, and Turković spoke about the problem of vaccine procurement in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the activities to start vaccination in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She also pointed out the consequences of the fact that the COVAX mechanism had failed.
Sloat emphasized that during her earlier work in the US Congress, she paid a lot of attention to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in the conversation, she was interested in the current discussions on the Constitution and the Election Law in BiH, but also other problems in BiH.
She pointed out that reforms are necessary, and that much more engagement is needed, in order to solve the problems in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the BiH Foreign Ministry said.
