SARAJEVO, March 30 (FENA) - An MP of the Democratic Front (DF) MP in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Đenan Đonlagić called on the House today to appoint a member of the Central Election Commission (CEC) from the ranks of the Croat people since the mandate of the current member of the CEC expires in less than 48 hours.
Đonlagić requested that the appointment and assumption of the position of a new member of the CEC be one of the items on the agenda of today's session of the House, warning that in less than 48 hours, this important BiH institution will not be able to operate in full capacity.
Đonlagić's proposal was not accepted, so this will not be one of the items on the agenda of today's session.
He says that the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina is in an identical situation today as it was a year ago when the competent commission did not submit the list to the House on time, and in this case, the 30-day deadline has passed.
"The mandate of one member of the CEC expires in less than 48 hours, and the list of successful candidates is still not before the deputies of the House of Representatives, so it is more than clear that the deadline of 30 days before the expiration of the mandate has not been met," Đonlagić underlined.
Prior to her statement, the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Krišto (HDZ), clarified that MP Đonlagić did not submit a proposal for a decision on dismissal of the current member or a decision on appointing a new member of the CEC.
