BiH Journalists' Association condemns the police action in Brod

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, March 31 (FENA) - The Association of Journalists of Bosnia and Herzegovina condemns the action of the police in Brod who arrested Vahidin Mujagić, correspondent of the O channel from Tuzla, who was filming the gas pipeline in that place, and announced that he would be issued a misdemeanor warrant if he does not submit the permit of the Brod Oil Refinery for filming.

"Colleague Mujagić was not at the facility of the Brod Oil Refinery when he was detained. Their security guards surrounded him, demanded that the footage be confiscated, and when he refused to hand over the footage, they called the police, who arrested him," stated the Association.

Colleagues from O Channel informed us that a few days ago they had footage of a gas pipeline installed under the Sava riverbed in the area between Slavonski Brod in Croatia and the Brod Oil Refinery in BiH and that no one caused problems for them or those who filmed, it was announced from the Association of Journalists of BiH.

The attack on journalists and preventing them from doing their job unhindered is an attack on freedom of speech and democracy, the Association of Journalists of BiH said.
