FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, April 1 (FENA) - President of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC) of Bosnia and Herzegovina Halil Lagumdžija received the Ambassador of the Republic of France to Bosnia and Herzegovina Christine Toudic in an inaugural visit.

The French Ambassador expressed full support for the HJPC BiH on the path of reform, emphasizing that the rule of law is a key priority for the European Union and BiH.

Toudic also stressed that the rule of law is a fundamental precondition for restoring public confidence in the justice system and creating a "healthier environment" in which young people want to stay in BiH and that will influence economic development in terms of attracting foreign investors and companies.

President Lagumdžija emphasized the importance of adopting amendments to the Law on the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina and expressed the need for support in that process.

At the same time, Lagumdžija and Toudic commented on the results of the first phase of the EU4Justice Justice Project, funded by the European Union and implemented by the GIP Justice Cooperation International (JCI), as well as on future cooperation during the second phase of the project, announced the HJPC BiH.
