SARAJEVO, April 2 (FENA) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović told FENA today that a letter from US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to the BiH Presidency confirms that the United States is the closest friend and biggest advocate of a successful Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“I expect their stronger engagement and support in removing the obstacles we are facing and which have led to a stalemate on the European path,” Džaferović added.
He considers his message that the Dayton Peace Agreement is not carved in stone to be extremely important, and that changes to the Constitution are necessary in order to meet the requirements of international and domestic courts to eliminate discrimination and ensure equality.
"It is certain that domestic institutions and political forces must play a leading role in initiating and implementing reforms, with the support of our key partners in Washington and Brussels," he underlined.
As Džaferović emphasized, Blinken's letter sent to the Presidency of BiH, as the supreme institution of executive power in BiH, is a clear message to all those who tried to bypass the Presidency and impose concepts in which BiH is seen as a simple sum of three peoples.
In the end, the member of the Presidency of BiH, Šefik Džaferović, reminded that the Presidency of BiH played a key role in unblocking the NATO path and initiating the European path with decisions regarding the implementation of 14 priorities from the Opinion of the European Commission.
