SARAJEVO, April 2 (FENA) - Today's hearing in the trial concerning the "ventilators procurement case" in which the indicted persons are the Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH Fadil Novalić, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Jelka Milićević, the suspended director of the FBiH Civil Protection Administration Fahrudin Solak and owner of the company "Silver Raspberry" (Srebrna malina) Fikret Hodžić focused on a discussion between the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the defense of the indictees, which claimed that the evidence presented today was not submitted to the defense as part of the indictment and that the laws prescribing the right to a fair trial have been violated.
Vidović: Unlawful conduct of proceedings by the Prosecutor's Office of BiH
A witness in the case, Bahra Džaka, an employee in the Office of the Prime Minister of FBiH for administrative and technical affairs, did not finish her testimony, which will continue on April 7, because a lot of time was spent on the discussion between the prosecutor and the defense lawyer.
Fadil Novalić's lawyer Vasvija Vidović said in a statement for the media that this was her first case in which the defense attorney has not been presented with the results of the search and seized evidence during the search of the official premises and the apartment.
Vidović said that this was unlawful conduct of the procedure by the Prosecutor's Office, which did not submit all the evidence, i.e. the CDs that were presented today. She stressed that the defendant has the right to prepare for his defense, which means that the Prosecution is obliged to submit all evidence.
Speaking about the testimony of today's witness, Bahra Džaka, Vidović said that so far, she has spoken about completely irrelevant things.
"It seems to me that the Prosecution is trying to link the entire criminal proceedings with Professor, Dr. Izetbegović based on the questions posed to the witness," said Vidović.
