TUZLA, April 5 (FENA) - In recent months, the prices of basic food items in BiH have increased significantly, and economic analyst and director of the Association "Multi" Admir Čavalić believes that a small help to low-income citizens could be opening social grocery stores.
“Unfortunately, the crisis has hit those with low incomes the hardest, in service industries for example. So the number of the socially endangered has increased. Accordingly, social stores need to meet this issue. At the same time, this social model should be supported not only by the state, but also by the private sector, as well as the citizens,” Čavalić said in a statement for FENA.
He points out that it is necessary to reform the social system of BiH, in order to reduce the influence of intermediaries in the system, and emphasize the direct relationship between those who provide and those who receive a certain type of social assistance.
“Crises are just the right time to notice all the shortcomings and propose solutions for our social and economic systems. The Covid-19 pandemic brings a new paradigm to the economy and highlights certain trends. One such trend relates to digitization. Entrepreneurs are already turning to new, digital technologies and trying to take advantage of the entrepreneurial opportunities that lie ahead. So, new business models: financing, distribution, sales, all of the above are already expanding to the cities of Bosnia and Herzegovina. True, there is no significant infrastructural support in terms of the implementation of the law on electronic signatures or the introduction of e-government, but this is being compensated with globally available technologies,” believes Čavalić.
