SARAJEVO, April 8 (FENA) - Deputy head of the Party Democratic Action (SDA) caucus in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Safet Softić said that the SNSD MP Snježana Novaković-Bursač's demands that the SNSD get the exclusive right to appoint a new state minister for human rights and refugees are unfounded.
As Softić said in the statement, the demands of the SNSD are in complete contradiction with the inter-party agreement between the SDA, HDZ and SNSD.
It was then agreed that the Minister for Human Rights and Refugees would be a non-partisan person from the ranks of other nations, and that he would come from the RS entity, and that this person, with his worldview, would meet some minimum requirements acceptable for the SDA.
"It was all part of a compromise through which we overcame the then blockade of the formation of the Council of Ministers, and now the SNSD has changed its mind and expects all this to be ignored and the agreement to be violated, in order to satisfy their whims and appoint an SNSD official.
That cannot happen. On this occasion, I call on the SNSD, in accordance with the established political agreement, to find a candidate for Minister of Human Rights and Refugees, and to offer it to us for consideration, instead of causing tensions, because this is an important position that should not be the subject intra-party relations in the SNSD," said Softić.
