SARAJEVO, April 11 (FENA) - President of the association "Let's buy and use domestic products" Admir Kapo told FENA that BiH must start investing more in primary agricultural production because we are a country that has the resources to produce large amounts of food for its own needs.
He added that the pandemic has changed all economic flows, but it has been shown that societies that have a developed food industry are able to provide basic foodstuffs for their population.
"Such societies have more easily endured this pandemic and the consequences it brings," Kapo pointed out.
He said that by purchasing domestic products, we are developing our entire production, from the primary one to processing and that this should be the task for all citizens, regardless of the pandemic.
Kapo stated that for BiH, in addition to insufficient domestic production, the problem is also the excessive import of goods that we can produce ourselves.
He believes that this should be regulated at the level of policies and development strategies because we have the resources and manpower because we could produce at least two-thirds of the food for our own needs.
"Unfortunately, certain products such as wheat, meat, milk and dairy products must be imported because we do not produce enough of them," said Kapo.
