Minister Mitrović on a working visit to Serbia
SARAJEVO, April 13 (FENA) - Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina Vojin Mitrović is on a working visit to the Republic of Serbia today. On that occasion, Minister Mitrović and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Serbia Tomislav Momirović, together with their associates, held a bilateral meeting to discuss transport and infrastructure projects that are important for both countries.
The topic of the meeting was the construction of the Belgrade-Sarajevo-Belgrade motorway, which is one of the most important and valuable infrastructure projects in the region, since the total estimated value of its construction is around two billion euros.
Minister Mitrović pointed out that it is noticeable that the Republic of Serbia is extremely careful about its neighborly relations, primarily with Bosnia and Herzegovina, and thus the Republika Srpska and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and expressed gratitude on behalf of all citizens for the recent donation of vaccines to Bosnia and Herzegovina at the initiative of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić.
In addition, the ministers discussed the dynamics of works and infrastructural connections between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia, and through the project of construction of the highway Ruma - Šabac - Loznica, reconstruction and maintenance of interstate bridges, construction of a new border crossing at Sremska Rača and reconstruction of border crossing at Kotroman - Vardište, safe waterway and cleaning of the Sava riverbed, as well as the planned construction of the airport in Trebinje.
It was emphasized at the meeting that the policy of both countries should be a 'mini -Schengen', i.e. no barriers in the flow of people and goods between the two countries, which would ultimately fully integrate the region in the way the EU did, the Ministry of Communications and Transport of BiH said.
