Reis Kavazović in Foča: Unite forces and repel evil from all BiH citizens

FENA Press release

FOČA, April 20 (FENA) - What we have been seeing in Bosnia and Herzegovina in recent days, and even in recent months, is a situation that warns us that in some parts of our homeland Bosnia and Herzegovina, the ghosts of the past are being revived and they are gaining in intensity, said during his visit in Foča today the Rais-l-ulama of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Husein effendi Kavazović.

Today, as part of the traditional Ramadan visits to the congregation, he paid a visit to the Mufti of Goražde and the Majlis of the Islamic Community in Foča.

He warned that all Bosniaks must be aware, careful and alert of what is happening, to point out that evil, point the finger towards the evil and not be silent about what is happening.

"I think that silence is an encouragement to those forces that want to bring history back before our eyes so that we have to look at it, that hard and that bloody. We all need to come to our senses and unite our forces to repel this evil from ourselves and from all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that is very important," said Kavazović.

He stressed that Ramadan is a sacred time for Muslims and that we should look to call people to wisdom and peace and not allow what happened to us in the 1990s to happen again.

"I believe that we should leave it behind us and we should turn to each other, those forces that call for good must be empowered, first of all internally empowered, and then, of course, those who are the accountable people in this country must understand their role, their role is the most important one and is to protect every individual and every citizen, that they protect peace above all, and that they, of course, by example, show that it is possible to live in peace with each other here in our homeland Bosnia and Herzegovina," said Rais Kavazović.

Goražde Mufti, Remzija ef. Pitić said that Ramadan is always a good time for good things and that the Rais-l-ulama has been doing a lot of good, especially when it comes to this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina where a small number of Bosniaks live in returnee communities.

Commenting on the latest, repeated provocations in Foča by painting murals of war criminals, and earlier, with shots fired at a mosque, he says that we are dealing with a criminal organization that just calls itself politics and is confident that it can build its future on the committed crimes.

"A genocide was committed against one people of this country and that genocide was committed by organized groups of the Republika Srpska army and the police, and there will come a point at which all of us will have to face it, all those who did it and those who protected those who did it and those who would gladly sell the story that nothing happened and that some kind of peace should be built at all cost, but justice comes first and then peace; justice for every man in this country, for every citizen of this country. These authors of murals are not individuals, these acts are the acts of a system and it should be clear to all of us. To us who live here, it is more than clear," said the Mufti of Goražde.
