SDA urges PIC to impose sanctions against Dodik over secessionist threats

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, April 21 (FENA) - The Party of Democratic Action (SDA) calls on member states of the PIC Steering Board to impose sanctions on the SNSD President Milorad Dodik, in line with its mandate, over secessionist threats to the Dayton Peace Accords.

According to the statement from the SDA, Milorad Dodik has been acting directly against stability and peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina for a long time, slowing down and blocking the reform processes.

"His continued and repeated statements, in which he threatens the secession of the entity of RS and the collapse of the Dayton Peace Agreement, followed by the blockade of the BiH institutions, prevent the much-needed political and social dialogue which should accelerate integration processes for the benefit of all citizens and peoples in BiH.

Instead of all political forces in BiH being focused on meeting the 14 priorities from the European Commission's Opinion, which would enable our country to obtain a candidate status and general progress, we are forced to respond to the threats of secessionism that Dodik expresses on a daily basis, underlined the SDA.

The political party believes that it is high time for the PIC to stop retreating before political bullying, and to prevent destabilization of the country by sanctioning secessionist propagandists.
