SARAJEVO, April 25 (FENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bisera Turković announced in an interview with FENA the arrival of significant amounts of coronavirus vaccines from May.

These are vaccines purchased by BiH through the COVAX mechanism and the European Union program.

The remaining donations of vaccines are expected, including those from China and Malaysia, and the Minister expressed her gratitude to all countries that helped BiH in that regard.

“Having faced serious difficulties in the delivery of ordered and paid vaccines, we now see that things are moving from a standstill, which is encouraging, but far from satisfying,” warned Turković.

The House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly requested an analysis of the situation in the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the diplomatic-consular network, and Turković said that intensive work has been done in that sense, expressing confidence that there is room for significant progress within the epidemiological situation.

“We have very active diplomats and missions, but also those who are not. The fight for the delivery of vaccines has shown us that the system is looking for certain improvements and finding new solutions. However, we have a situation where we are constantly the target of unargued attacks, slander and false information, which I simply do not have time to deny everything,” added Turković.

Asked how far the BiH Law on Foreign Affairs had been drafted and whether it could soon be in the parliamentary procedure, Turković said that it is an extremely important and fundamental legal solution that is still in draft form.

The head of BiH diplomacy commented on the situation on the disputed "non-paper" on BiH, saying that there is no doubt that the sovereignty and territorial integrity of BiH is unquestionable and that she believes that no one serious within the European Union is ready to consider options that threaten BiH's integrity.

“It is an attempt to artificially impose separatist rhetoric as a legitimate political idea. Separatism, violation of the constitution and the overthrow of an internationally recognized state cannot be done anywhere in the world, not even in BiH, as it is presented, a legitimate story of "peaceful separation"," the Minister said.

She notes that there is nothing "peaceful" in ideas and attempts to separate parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina where genocide was committed and judged, where thousands of genocide victims are buried and where some of the survivors returned.

“The goal is to try to present BiH as unfunctional state in every possible way, to destabilize the entire Balkans and then in such circumstances try to achieve unfulfilled war goals,” points out the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Bisera Turković.

When it comes to the response of the international community to such things, Turković says that she expects them to use the legal and legitimate mechanisms that they have at their disposal and additionally sanction those who undermine the Dayton Peace Agreement.

She also referred to the accusations against her coming from the Republika Srpska regarding the issue of the nuclear waste landfill on Trgovska Gora, saying that she had put the issue back on the table during the last visit of the Croatian Foreign Minister, which is in fact the third time that this issue has been discussed at that level.

“It requires active resolution and argumentation, not unnecessary administration. I presented the problem at the International Atomic Energy Agency IAEA in Vienna at the highest level, talked to officials, received support to strengthen our arguments and work on a project in which BiH will receive special equipment,” added Turković.

The Minister claims that concrete steps have been taken, but that she will not agree to the formation of unnecessary obligations, commissions for personal benefit or promotion, which, she says, obviously does not suit someone.

She notes that domestic production should be strongly and systematically protected and that there is no dilemma, but says that the proposer, the BiH Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, has not provided any evidence that the introduction of such measures would bring any results.

Regarding the issue of appointing the Supervisory Body for the implementation of the Revised Strategy for War Crimes Prosecution, Turković says that the proposer, the Ministry of Justice, is constantly proposing the appointment of Milorad Kojić to that body.
He is a person who publicly denies the genocide in Srebrenica, undermines the verdicts of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and a person with whom the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals does not want to cooperate.

“As soon as they give an acceptable proposal, it will be resolved, but sometimes it seems to me that the BiH Council of Ministers is tired and blocked by politicization, instead of turning to concrete steps that would help citizens, economy and state promotion,” concluded the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bisera Turković in an interview for FENA.
