SARAJEVO, May 5 (FENA) - Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, who is on an official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, reiterated today that Turkey supports the territorial integrity of BiH and the entire Western Balkans, and that certain "non-papers" are not good especially for BiH and its stability.
After the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Bisera Turković, he emphasized that regardless of the pandemic, relations between the two countries continue in difficult conditions and announced that Turkey's support to Bosnia and Herzegovina in medical and other forms will continue as before, and especially at the time of the pandemic.
The foreign ministers of the two countries also discussed other topics, the most important of which was the construction of the motorway between Sarajevo and Belgrade, but also current events in BiH and the region.
“We strongly support the political unity and territorial integrity and prosperity of BiH and we are happy because the elections in Mostar were held after 12 years,” added Çavuşoğlu.
Recently, certain non-papers have become an ongoing topic, which are harmful especially for BiH, its stability and integrity, but also for the region and the whole of Europe, says Çavuşoğlu, and expressed the view that these anonymous documents that were placed, which he discussed during his visit to Slovenia cannot be useful.
“Instead of focusing on alleged non-papers in which there are views that we do not support, it is necessary to focus on positive projects such as the construction of the motorway. Works are already being carried out in Serbia, and steps are being taken in BiH to realize that in terms of signing contracts with contractors or agreements, and we believe that this will be completed soon,” he added.
He announced the continuation of work within the trilateral groups Turkey, BiH and Croatia, as well as Turkey, BiH and Serbia, expressing his belief that they greatly influence the region.
He also said that two important gatherings would be held on June 18, 19 and 20 in Antalya. One is part of the Southeast European cooperation process, which will be a meeting at the level of leaders and foreign ministers, and also for the first time after the pandemic an Antalya Diplomacy Forum will be organized with the presence of the participants.
