SARAJEVO, May 5 (FENA) - Numerous delegations, members of the Association of Parents of the Killed Children of the Besieged Sarajevo 1992-1995, government representatives from the municipal to the state level, as well as other citizens, marked the Day of Remembrance of all the killed children during the war in Sarajevo.
They laid flowers at the central memorial in the city, dedicated to the children killed during the last war.
On behalf of the Parents' Association, President Fikret Grabovica told numerous news crews that this was perhaps the saddest day of the year, dedicated to little heroes. They are heroes because, as innocent, but unscrupulously killed beings, "they motivated us to defend Bosnia and Herzegovina," Grabovica said, among other things.
Among the numerous delegations, members of the Presidency of BiH, Željko Komšić and Šefik Džaferovic, laid flowers at the memorial.
On that occasion, Komšić told reporters that there is no greater tragedy for a parent than the death of his child because that kind of pain never passes, and "it is our obligation to join the parents in that pain."
Džaferović said that we will always remember these victims and wished that similar crimes would never happen to anyone again. Only a dark mind, he added, can conceive, order and kill a child. He also said that today's commemoration is an opportunity to send a message to the world about what Bosnia and Herzegovina was facing at the time of the aggression.
