BiH CoM adopts a report on the situation in the field of human trafficking

SARAJEVO, May 5 (FENA) - At today's session, the BiH Council of Ministers adopted the report of the BiH Ministry of Security on the situation in the field of human trafficking and on the implementation of the Strategy for Combating Human Trafficking in BiH for 2020. 

In 2020, a total of 70 potential victims of trafficking were identified in BiH for the purpose of sexual exploitation, begging and other forms of exploitation, which is a slight increase compared to previous reporting periods.

During 2020, BiH continued to make efforts to combat trafficking in human beings, and numerous activities were carried out to improve the legal and institutional framework, strengthen the investigation and prosecution of trafficking and related crimes, and strengthen mechanisms for identifying and protecting victims of trafficking, prevention of human trafficking and building mechanisms of coordination and cooperation of competent institutions, international organizations and civil society organizations in activities to combat human trafficking, the BiH CoM said.
