SARAJEVO, May 7 (FENA) – The new EUFOR Chief of Staff is Brigadier General Szilárd Gerőfi who take over the duty from the incumbent chief of staff Brigadier General Ernő Baráth.
The handover ceremony took place today at the Butmir Base in Sarajevo.
During his inauguration, General Gerőfi emphasized that this is a great honor and responsibility, emphasizing his readiness to continue the mission of preserving a safe environment in BiH with equal success.
General Baráth expressed satisfaction with the results achieved within the mission and thanked all those who contributed to it.
The ceremony was welcomed by EUFOR Commander Alexander Platzer, stressing the determination to maintain the continuity of Operation Althea.
The ceremony was accompanied by a special program, the intonation of the anthems of BiH and the EU and the line-up of the unit.
