SARAJEVO, May 9 (FENA) - Sarajevo Mayor Benjamina Karić, Director of the BiH History Museum Elma Hašimbegović and EU Ambassador to BiH Johann Sattler on Friday evening opened a multimedia exhibition "Awakening Solidarity" at the History Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo.
The authors of the exhibition are young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina, artists and architects working on the themes of solidarity, tolerance and activism, and is inspired by murals by Rikardo Druškić, which he painted in five BiH cities within the EU project.
Mayor Karić stated at the opening that Sarajevo is part of the family of European capitals and that it is an anti-fascist, democratic and freedom-loving city.
"Such Sarajevo keeps pace with Europe, which is democratic and liberal and which will certainly always nurture and recognize the positive values that derive from our beautiful city," said Karić.
She welcomed to Sarajevo all the good people who want to contribute to it, build a more beautiful and better city, and thus a more beautiful and better Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Ambassador Sattler pointed out that the founders of the European Union 70 years ago could not even dream of the success of this project.
"Sometimes people only talk about the problems of the Union, which are real, but we should not forget that we had more than 70 years of peace after the war that took millions of lives due to an evil ideology," Sattler added.
It was announced that during the month of May, numerous activities will take place as part of the celebration of Europe Day throughout the country and with rich online content.
