GORAŽDE, May 10 (FENA) - An increased influx of migrants has been recorded in the past more than a month in the area of Bosnian-Podrinje Canton (BPC), confirmed Head of the Department for Analysis and Protection of Classified Information of the BPC Ministry of the Interior, Mirsad Kamenica.

He reminded that a larger group of foreign citizens was registered in Goražde last week, without identification documents.

"On May 7, a police patrol found about 60 people suspected of being illegal migrants of Afghan origin, including 22 minor children. They were processed in the Field Center of the Service for Foreigners Affairs in Goražde, which organizes transport to migrant camps,” explained Kamenica, noting that 31 people were registered during April as well.

He pointed out that with better weather conditions, a larger number of migrants is expected to pass through this part of BiH in the coming period.

"Migrants mostly come from the direction of Čajniče, i.e. Montenegro, and we take all measures and actions within our competence. Our patrols legitimize migrants that are found and then inform the BiH Border Police and, if they are able-bodied males, the Border Police returns them to the country from which they came. In case of families with small children, the elderly or the sick, they are handed over to the field center of the Service for Foreigners' Affairs in Goražde and they take further measures and actions within their competence," Kamenica explained.
