FENA Muhamed Hadžibegić

SARAJEVO, May 19 (FENA) - Representatives of the FBiH Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry, Elektroprivreda BiH and the Independent Trade Union of Mine Workers of FBiH agreed today in Sarajevo on an agreement on restructuring the mines, which should be signed during the day.

Minister Nermin Džindić stated after the meeting that the agreement envisages that Elektroprivreda BiH will provide funds for the retirement of all employees of the mine who will acquire the conditions for retirement by the end of the year.

“Also, it was agreed that the care of redundant workers in the mines will be done in a socially acceptable way,” said Džindić.

He added that with this agreement Elektroprivreda BiH is obliged to continue investing in mines.

President of the Independent Trade Union of Mine Workers of FBiH, Sinan Husić, said that the members of their negotiating team have reason to be satisfied because the key issue of retirement of a significant part of the workers has been resolved.

He stressed that it is necessary to counter the negative impact of local policies on the mines and energy sector in order for the agreement to be reached.

General Manager of Elektroprivreda BiH, Admir Andelija, pointed out that a compromise solution has been agreed, and that reaching an agreement means that there will be no increase in the price of electricity.
