Podžić speaks with Commander of US ground forces for Europe and Africa

SARAJEVO, May 21 (FENA) - Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sifet Podžić, with his associates, talked today with the Commander of the US Land Forces for Europe and Africa, General Christopher Cavoli and his associates.

Cavoli is visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina to attend the "Immediate Response 21" military exercise, which is being held at three locations of the BiH Armed Forces, where members of the US Army together with members of the AF BiH exercise certain procedures and actions aimed at strengthening overall capacities, as well as strengthening the degree of interoperability and joint action in a multinational environment.

Podžić welcomed General Cavoli and welcomed the decision of the US Army to carry out part of the exercise "Immediate Response 21" with the BiH Armed Forces, where 800 members of the US Army are conducting a joint exercise with members of the AF BiH, which provides an excellent opportunity to strengthen individual and collective skills of our members, and is a kind of opportunity to create long-term and useful close relations between members of the two armies.

"We see the arrival of American soldiers for a joint exercise with the AF BiH as a confirmation of the strong commitment, support and assistance of the United States to the process of further strengthening peace and stability in our country and the wider region," Podžić pointed out.

Cavoli also met today with the Chief of the Joint Staff of the AF BiH, Colonel General Senad Mašović, and his associates. Joint viewing of the exercise is planned for tomorrow, the BiH Ministry of Defense announced.
