BRČKO, May 21 (FENA) - The Public Safety Department of the Government of the Brčko District of BiH presented a command vehicle, donated by the US Embassy in BiH, to the District officials on Friday.
The coordinator for crisis situations in the Public Safety Department, Mirsad Hasanbašić, said that the vehicle is well equipped and that it has high-quality characteristics.
"The vehicle is equipped with a generator and space provided for the command post. It can accommodate up to ten people. It also has the ability to project the current situation on the ground. We have not used it yet, but according to the characteristics, it will probably be able to overcome any terrain, slightly deeper water, and the like. It will also be able to be used in case of need for transport of people and possible evacuation of people or transport of some smaller quantities of goods to endangered areas," said Hasanbašić.
Head of the Public Safety Department, Bogdan Bratić, said that the vehicle would be used for various rescue actions in case of floods, crisis situations and the like.
The Command of the United States Army for Europe (EUCOM), through the Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC) of the US Embassy, funded the purchase of three custom-made command vehicles, and the total value of that donation is about USD 450,000.
