SARAJEVO, May 23 (FENA) - The Presidency of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) met in Sarajevo yesterday and welcomed the adoption of the Draft Reform Program and called on the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina to adopt the document as soon as possible.

They commended the multi-day exercise "Immediate Response 21" at Manjača, in which members of the Armed Forces of BiH and the United States Army are participating.

The SDA Presidency welcomed the activities of the BiH Ministry of Security in resolving the migrant crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Thanks to the engagement of Minister Selmo Cikotić and the Ministry of Security of BiH, the scope of the migrant crisis that affected parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been significantly reduced.

They condemned frequent attacks of the Republic of Serbia on the resources of Bosnia and Herzegovina because the illegal arrangements regarding the construction of hydroelectric power plants on the Drina River, the construction of the airport in Trebinje which represent a drastic violation of the sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to SDA President Bakir Izetbegović, the Presidency commended the establishment of the Interdepartmental Working Group for Amendments to the Election Legislation, emphasizing that everyone in Bosnia and Herzegovina should address the issues of changes in the election legislation.

Izetbegović said that a political agreement is not necessary to resolve some passions regarding the integrity and transparency of the election process, but that the biggest stumbling block between the SDA and HDZ or the Croat bloc is that it will not be possible without a political agreement.

“It is the main knot and if it were untangled, other changes would be easier to reach. Namely, they claim that Bosniaks elect a member of the Presidency of BiH and an open discussion should be held about that, and we claim that they use blockade options, which can be seen through not forming the Government of the Federation of BiH and appointing the members of the Constitutional Court,” Izetbegović explained.

The SDA leader claims that on the basis of the Constitution of BiH and the Constitution of FBiH, a solution can be reached because the constituent peoples have the right to be represented and have the right to protect the vital national interest. HDZ demands representation, and SDA demands protection of vital national interest.

With the journalist's statement that the deadline for changes in the election legislation was set in June, Izetbegović said that if this issue was resolved, the deadline could be reached.

When asked by reporters how the SDA will behave if its senior official and member of the Collegium of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Denis Zvizdić decides to leave the party, which was evident from his earlier speeches, Izetbegović says that Zvizdić's absence from yesterday's session of the Presidency and the session of the Party Collegium that was held on Friday hints at his decision.

The SDA Presidency also called on the countries of the Peace Implementation Council (PIC) and EU member states to impose sanctions on the Chairman of the BiH Presidency and SNSD leader Milorad Dodik, based on legal principles, due to persistent secessionist threats to the Dayton Peace Agreement.
