BiH CoM: Resolve the issue of transit of goods from BiH through Croatia

SARAJEVO, May 26 (FENA) - The Council of Ministers of BiH considered the Information of the Ministry of Communications and Transport on problems arising in the transit of goods from BiH through the Republic of Croatia, after the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Croatia adopted the Ordinance on determining public roads for the transit of cargo vehicles through the Republic of Croatia.

All competent ministries and bodies of the Council of Ministers of BiH will continue the initiated communication with the competent authorities of the Republic of Croatia with the aim of resolving the problem of transit of goods from BiH through the Republic of Croatia.

The BiH CoM determined the Proposal of the basis for initiating the procedure for conducting negotiations for the purpose of concluding the Agreement on Security Cooperation between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of the Republic of Turkey, with the accepted correction at the session.

The Proposal of the basis for initiating the procedure for conducting negotiations for concluding the Agreement between the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on cooperation in the fight against international crime, terrorism, drug trafficking and organized crime, which strengthens bilateral cooperation, was determined.

The Council of Ministers of BiH, with four votes against, did not reach a consensus regarding the adoption of a decision on amendments to the Decision on prescribing additional conditions for the entry of foreigners into Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was amended at the session.

The Council of Ministers adopted the Migration Profile of Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2020, which fulfills one of the obligations in the process of visa liberalization on an annual basis, which refers to its regular updating.

With the help of IOM, in 2020, 58 BiH citizens were voluntarily returned to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At the proposal of the Ministry of Communications and Transport, BiH Council of Ministers adopted a Decision to appoint an Interdepartmental Working Group for Interoperability of Bosnia and Herzegovina, consisting of four representatives of the BiH Council of Ministers, the governments of Republika Srpska, the Federation of BiH and the Brčko District of BiH.

The Council of Ministers of BiH adopted the Information of the Ministry of Security on the situation in the field of migration in Bosnia and Herzegovina for February 2021, which will be forwarded to the Presidency of BiH and the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.

According to the Information, in February this year, 773 illegal migrants were reported to the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs of BiH, which is 61 percent less compared to the same period last year, but 15 percent more than in January 2021.
