SARAJEVO, May 26 (FENA) - Deputy Chair of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bisera Turković called on BiH Minister of Justice Josip Grubeša to re-read the text of the decision he rejected at today’s session.
"When he does that, he will see that no abolition of the visa regime for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been proposed, but only a temporary suspension for the duration of the tourist season, and only for a stay of up to 30 days," she said.
Turković states that Grubeša is deliberately keeping silent that such a decision has already been made by Albania, which is a candidate for the EU.
“Of course, the EU representatives were informed about the proposal in a timely manner and that to date the MFA of BiH has not received any official position from the European Union on that,” she pointed out.
She claims that Grubeša refers to the alleged informal communication of an employee of the MFA, in which the general position was stated that the EU supports the harmonization of visa policy.
“But here it was necessary to act in the interest of citizens and the state, not party politics. The nervous reaction of the minister best shows and confirms the information that numerous tourist workers from all over the country, even from the cantons where HDZ holds power, criticized the irrational blockade of the measure that would help save tourism,” Turković pointed out.
She emphasizes that Grubeša is also deliberately keeping silent that the decision to facilitate measures for the entry of foreigners into BiH has been postponed, not because they are against it, but because it has not been adequately prepared, the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
