SARAJEVO, May 31 (FENA) - German Ambassador in Bosnia and Herzegovina Margret Uebber and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bisera Turković signed today an Agreement, concluded between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany on performing paid activities by family members, members of a diplomatic or consular mission in the respective other countries.
Pursuant to this agreement, the partners and children of the appointed members of the diplomatic missions and consular posts in the receiving country may in the future pursue any form of remunerated employment, whether self-employment or employment, including vocational training.
The agreement addresses issues related to the need to obtain a residence permit, immunity, as well as taxes and social security.
The Agreement is concluded for an indefinite period of time, and shall enter into force as soon as all internal conditions are met in BiH and when the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina notifies the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany of the entry into force.
Foreign Minister Turković and Ambassador Uebber welcomed the conclusion of the agreement, which was preceded by years of negotiations.
"This agreement is the basis for the fact that the partners of the appointed staff in foreign missions would be allowed to work in the receiving country in the future. For many employees of both Ministries of Foreign Affairs, this is an important element in making the decision to move to a partner country," said Ambassador Uebber.
The Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany has so far concluded 51 such bilateral agreements with countries around the world, stated the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
