PODGORICA, June 4 (FENA) - Members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović and Željko Komšić met last night with Montenegrin President Milo Đukanović in Podgorica for a gala dinner to discuss mutual relations between the two countries.
As the participants in the meeting pointed out, the relations between the two countries are of good quality, there are numerous signed bilateral agreements, and the visit to that country is a continuation of the improvement of good neighborly relations.
Džaferović said that relations should be built on the principles of mutual respect and that Bosnia and Herzegovina wants good relations with its neighbors, including Serbia, and the only condition is that the neighbors respect Bosnia and Herzegovina as much as Bosnia and Herzegovina respects them.
Commenting on the statements of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić regarding the appointment of the new High Representative in BiH Christian Schmidt, he added that no one should have a paternalistic attitude towards BiH and that Serbia really has nothing to do with the appointment of the High Representative.
"As a party to the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia was a signatory to the General Framework Agreement for Peace and some of the annexes, including Annex X, and from it derive only the obligations of Serbia to support the work of the High Representative so that he could carry out the civil aspects of his mandate as successfully as possible," said Džaferović.
When it comes to Vučić's complaint regarding the Brdo-Brijuni Summit, he said that he pointed out open issues between Serbia and BiH, but that he did not receive answers to any of those questions, and they must be resolved because it is impossible to build better relations as long as things are swept under the rug.
