MOSTAR, June 4 (FENA) - I fully support the territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in which the three constituent peoples will be fully equal and in which the Croat people will be represented by its legitimate representatives and everything else is a matter for negotiations, said today after the session of the Croat People's Assembly (HNS) BiH in Mostar, the president of that organization Dragan Čović.
"You could hear today that there are a lot of our representatives who insist on the third entity and they want it today. I said a long time ago that the irresponsible politics of the Bosniak people and their political representatives will lead to something like that. It is up to us, or to me today, to lead responsible politics, not towards certain parties or individuals, but towards Croats in BiH, and that is what I do," said Čović.
Speaking about party talks on changes to the BiH Election Law, he said it was only important to find a solution that would ensure the legitimate representation of the three peoples in the BiH Presidency and the House of Peoples of the Federation of BiH.
"The negotiation process is going on, I believe that we will very soon sit down with the witnesses of these agreements, which I signed on behalf of the HDZ, but each passed the institutions of the HNS and we went with unanimous support with these proposals, as well as with unanimous support on behalf of the HNS Presidency, we are going into this negotiation process about the Election Law," said Čović.
Commenting on the self-exclusion of the Croat Republican Party (HRS) and the Čapljina Independent Party "Čapljina u srcu" from the Croat People's Assembly, Čović said that he had no special comment on that except that he would continue to insist on unity within the Croat people in BiH.
"I have no comments and I would not bother with that. We want to clearly, loudly and transparently tell our friends and everyone within the Croat people, and those who do not agree with us, as well as the representatives of partner political parties in the Bosniak and Serb people, and especially international institutions, that we are here, that this is our country and that we will not allow any discrimination against the Croat people," said Čović.
