SARAJEVO, June 7 (FENA) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić visited Jajce to mark June 5, the day when the last Bosnian king, Stjepan Tomašević, was executed in 1463.
Komšić also visited the Franciscan monastery in Jajce, which houses the skeletal remains of the last Bosnian king, Stjepan Tomašević, and the site of the King's Tomb.
"We want to mark the continuity of Bosnian statehood in this way as well, paying tribute to the last Bosnian king Stjepan Tomašević. Bosnia and Herzegovina survived and outlived the Ottoman Empire, the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, the Kingdom of Yugoslavia and the former SFR Yugoslavia, which puts it among the countries in the world that have outlived other, much larger and more powerful countries that once existed," said Komšić.
On that occasion, he sent an invitation to all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina to gather at the King's Tomb on June 5 every year as a traditional event whose occasion would be to mark the continuity of Bosnian statehood, the Presidency of BiH announced.
