SARAJEVO, June 9 (FENA) - Raisu-l-ulama of the Islamic Community in BiH Husein effendi Kavazović said today, commenting on the verdict of the Hague Tribunal against the Army of Republika Srpska General Ratko Mladić, who was convicted of crimes and genocide, that the criminal enterprise has been convicted, that it received its epilogue and that he hopes that it will never be re-established as an idea of nationalist projects in this region.
"I want to say that the Hague Tribunal had two goals set out before it. The first thing was the trials, which lasted for years, which aimed to uncover the project of that joint criminal enterprise, and the other thing was for the perpetrators of that criminal enterprise to be held accountable and in that way, the victims get at least a part of the satisfaction they deserve. Unfortunately, what we have witnessed all these years was the magnitude and scale of those crimes, and what were the intentions and goals of those who wanted to crate the so-called Greater Serbia in this region," said Rais Kavazović.
He pointed out that at this moment, our thoughts should be with the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica, but also with the victims of all the crimes that Mladić commanded to be executed.
"What we need to pay attention to is that Milošević, Karadžić, Mladić, Krajišnik, who were the creators of the joint criminal enterprise, were convicted for that, but that the project remained on the shoulders of Bosniaks, Croats and Serbs in Bosnia and Herzegovina even to this day and the question is for how long that project will survive. I believe that everything should be done to thwart this criminal project and to restore the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina as it was before all of this, and that is the question of creating a common state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a state of all citizens who will live in peace here, with each other, to think about each other and help each other," said Rais Kavazović.
