Farmers warn about problems in production, purchase prices remain the same

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, June 10 (FENA) - The Association of Farmers of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in an open letter, requests the urgent payment of incentives and urgent engagement of the FBiH Government regarding the purchase prices of agricultural products.

The association points out that the reason for this address is the enormous increase in the price of fodder, fuel, mineral fertilizers, seed material, while the purchase prices of agricultural products remain at the level they were a few years ago.

"We are already halfway through 2021, which is not very promising for agricultural production. Agriculture in BiH is facing a series of problems that will eventually lead to the closure of a large number of farms, which will result in a large number of job losses and a large reduction in production," said the Association said in an open letter.

As a reason for addressing, they also state the delay in the payment of incentives and many other problems that accompany production both in the Federation of BiH and the entire country.
